Food Must Eat In Penang

Penang is a food paradise which you may find lots of food around the streets. That why it is difficult to hunt food with the high popularity as almost the same.
1.  Char Koay Teow (炒粿條)
Char Koay Teow is a famous food with their own signature taste in Penang. It is special for Sarawakian because it  made by frying the noodles in pork fat with a light and dark soy sauce, prawns, briny cockles, chewy Chinese sausage, crispy sprouts, fluffy egg (chicken or duck) and a hint of chilli, often served on a banana leaf. Some places include ‘pig blood cockles’ so if you prefer it without that, just ask.

2. Penang Asam Laksa
A proud signature dish of Penang, Asam laksa is a sour and spicy, fish-based soup noodle broth of tamarind juice, chilli paste, lemongrass, topped with prawn paste and mackerel/sardine flakes. It has a tangy, wholesome flavor from the tamarind which some may find it too overpowering. If you scare of the fishy smell, you may dislike it.

3.Oyster Omelette

The oyster omelette, also known as “O Chien” in dialect Hokkien is a culinary delight. The oysters are fried in an egg & rice flour batter (to make it crispy), with chives and then accompanied with a spicy chilli or garlic sauce. The metallic taste is non-existent so you end up with a fluffy omelette with little bursts of flavour. Really tasty!

But for those who dislike the raw oyster may find it is hard to swallow.
