Midin, or also known as paku in west Malaysia, is essentially a local vegetable from the fern family that loved by Sarawak people. Midin can be cooked in sambal belacan or garlic which is absolutely delicious, curly, and crunchy.

The squid was an absolute delight with its slightly chewy texture. The freshness of the squid was obvious as the flesh was juicy and slightly sweet, a great contrast with the light but spicy kam heong sauce.

This is ginger-steamed parrot fish I’d never tried parrot fish, and was absolutely blown away by the silky smoothness of the flesh. The mound of minced ginger tasted perfect with the juicy, sweet flesh and the entire fish was left to its bones in a matter of minutes.
